Greg Roskopf is an author, founder, and developer of Muscle Activation Techniques, the modality that has been applied to professional athletes and taught to students across the globe for over two decades.

As the founder of Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT), I believe that muscle weakness, not tightness, is the root cause of dysfunction.

My mission is to redefine how people think about muscular health and performance, and offer an innovative, systematic approach to optimizing the body’s ability to heal, strengthen, perform efficiently.

Muscle Activation Techniques is a revolutionary approach to identifying and correcting muscular imbalances that cause pain, limited mobility, and poor performance. By addressing muscle weakness—the root cause of dysfunction—MAT restores the connection between the nervous system and muscles, improving strength, stability, & movement.

I created MAT because it is the missing link in fitness and health. Traditional methods often overlook muscle weakness as the source of dysfunction, so I developed MAT as a systematic, non-invasive way to assess and correct these imbalances. MAT helps everyone, from elite athletes to everyday individuals, restore their body’s ability to move and perform pain-free.

I’ve worked with numerous high-profile athletes and professionals to enhance their performance and address muscular imbalances. My expertise has been sought after by elite athletes in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, and Liv Golf.

The MAT Education is designed to teach practitioners the principles and techniques behind Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). It provides in-depth training on identifying and correcting muscular imbalances by assessing and addressing muscle weakness—the root cause of dysfunction.

The education offers multiple levels of certification, from foundational courses to advanced mastery, allowing individuals to deepen their skills over time. Whether you’re a fitness professional, therapist, or healthcare provider, the MAT Education equips you with the tools to help clients improve performance, reduce pain, and optimize movement.
